  • I’ve never watched Sons of Anarchy, or Breaking Bad for that matter (I know I know!) but I was really annoyed with Netflix and Marvel when Luke Cage got cancelled, and a large part of my frustration was because Shades was such an amazing character –very nuanced and calculating, at times brutal, but on rare occasions capable of tenderness and showing vulnerability. And Theo’s own ‘origin story’ is pretty amazing, too; it’s like some people need to spend years and thousands of dollars to reach a place in their craft (acting) that some others already did by way of hardship and a very bumpy road.

Yes Theo’s work on Luke Cage was outstanding- the main reason I watched it. Very intense, at times it reminded me of a young Pacino.
