Rick Beato podcast

I love this guy. He exudes kindness, generosity, and intelligence. This is the fourth time Rick’s been on Tangentially Speaking, but the first time we’ve met in person, so it’s a special conversation. (Previous episodes were 420, 452, and 506.) We don’t talk about music as much this time around, but we go deep on family, dads, and how life looks from sixty. (Given the fact that I was flat on my back with COVID less than 48 hours after recording this, that last subject seems prescient in retrospect.) You can find everything Rick Beato related on his YouTube channel, including his unpacking of songs you’ve heard many times, but will never hear the same way again, and his interviews with Sting, Peter Frampton, Pat Metheny, and lots of other amazing artists eager to share their stories with Rick.

Intro music “Brightside of the Sun,” by Basin and Range. “Variato IV A 1 Clavier” (BVW 988), played by Glenn Gould; Outro: “Smoke Alarm,” by Carsie Blanton.
